VOIP FAQS

What is Voice over IP and what does it do for you ?

Voice over IP is an emerging technology using the internet as a networking system  for office to office communications including voice, fax and tie line capabilities. Using existing investments in PBX and data networking infrastructure to eliminate long distance costs and effectively tie you voice systems together wherever they are, across town or around the world.

How does it work ?

Office to office communications

A VOIP network can be as small as two offices or as large as hundreds of offices. Each office installs and configures a VOIP on their computer network that is connected to a  ISP  or (internet service provider) the VOIP is then connected to their existing phone system. calls and faxes can then be made over the internet eliminating long distance charges.

Off  Net Calling

Telecommuters or customers off the IP network can make free long distance calls by dialing into a local VOIP and placing toll-free calls to any location on the VOIP network. You can even have a VOIP at a remote site dial a local phone number for for a free person to person long distance call.

Create off-premise extensions

Extend your PBX phone system into hone office locations. Simply connect a VOIP gateway to the PBX phone system at the corporate office, and another VOIP gateway at the remote office. Now, anyone can place calls to the remote office by dialing the persons extension number. To extend your PBX phone system to a building across the street , utilize a wireless bridge to connect the two networks. Now , you have voice and data connectivity without having to lay cable or paying monthly charges to the local telephone company for dedicated lines.

Replace expensive tie lines

A Corporation that utilizes Tie lines to connect branch office PBX phone systems to the corporate PBX phone system can now use the company's internet connection or wide area network to complete calls.
